Pittsburgh, PA – Tuesday's matchup between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates has been postponed due to inclement weather.
Rain started coming down during the second inning and picked up in between the second and third. Heavy rain was expected to continue until around midnight.
The Pirates led 4-2 at the time of the delay after scraping together five consecutive singles in the bottom of the first inning against Cardinals starter Jake Westbrook.
St. Louis notched two runs in the top of the first on Matt Holliday's single up the middle and Yadier Molina's groundout to first.
No makeup date has been announced at this time.
