Arizona OF Eaton out 6-8 weeks

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Adam Eaton will be out of action for 6-8 weeks after an MRI revealed a left elbow UCL sprain.

Although the injury will not require surgery, it will delay Eaton's highly- anticipated rookie campaign.

Eaton said he started to feel discomfort in his elbow roughly two weeks ago. Over 20 spring training games this season, Eaton was batting .390 with 23 hits and 10 RBI before the injury.

In 22 appearances with Arizona last season, Eaton batted .259 with two homer and five RBI.

Weeks lifts Brewers to 3-2 win with triple after Dodgers' Greinke scratched with elbow issue

Rickie Weeks had an RBI triple off Hyun-Jim Ryu after Zack Greinke was scratched from his start Monday because of elbow inflammation, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2.

The Dodgers said Greinke was examined by Dr. Neal ElAttrache and that an MRI in Arizona last week showed no structural damage. The 2009 AL Cy Young Award winner, signed to a $147 million, six-year contract in December as a free agent, received an injection of platelet-rich plasma and anti-inflammatory medication. The Dodgers said the right-hander will rest for two to three days and then go on a progressive throwing program.

Mike Fiers pitched out of jams in the second and third innings for Milwaukee. Fiers allowed two unearned runs in four innings, while giving up six hits.

Bobcats' Sessions out 2-4 weeks

The Charlotte Bobcats announced Thursday that guard Ramon Sessions will miss 2-to-4 weeks with a second degree MCL sprain in his left knee.

An MRI on Sessions' knee revealed that his meniscus and other ligaments are intact, however, and no surgery is needed.

Sessions has appeared in all 61 games this season, averaging 14.4 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds.
